UPDATE: Project “Cooking for the Elderly” – A successful day full of warmth and connection
In July 2024, I took the initiative to set up a special project for a nursing home in The Hague. The goal was to put the residents, volunteers, and staff in the spotlight and thank them for their dedication and presence over the past year. To make this happen, I sent out a mailing to donors and volunteers to involve them in this initiative. With their enthusiastic support and involvement, we were able to successfully carry out the project.
This special day took place on Saturday, November 30th, 2024. The program started in the afternoon, where all attendees enjoyed refreshments with soft drinks and water. Meanwhile, a music group, joined by our own boys from the kirtan, provided an atmospheric musical performance. This added an extra festive and warm dimension to the afternoon.
For dinner, a delicious vegetarian meal was served, consisting of Hong Kong fried rice, sweet and sour tofu, soy sambal, fried banana, and a fresh raw vegetable salad. The menu was carefully composed to offer everyone a tasty and special meal.
As a token of appreciation, on behalf of ShriSSWF, we presented all residents, volunteers, and staff with a small gift. This included a set of shower gel, body lotion, toothpaste, and a washcloth, as a sign of our gratitude and involvement.
I would like to express my deep appreciation to everyone who contributed in any way to the success of this day. Without the efforts of volunteers, donors, and supporters, this project would not have been possible. Together we made a difference and created a day filled with warmth, connection, and appreciation.
